Festival and season calendar for Punjab businesses, October 2026 to November 2027.
Every date worth planning for, from Dussehra to Gurpurab: what a café, a hotel, a gym, a clinic and a shop could post or film, and the day to shoot it, two weeks ahead. It prints on one A4 sheet, for the wall behind the counter.

The calendar
Find your column. Shoot two weeks ahead.
The day to shoot is two weeks before the date: a week to edit and say yes, and the posts are ready the week before. When that falls on a Sunday, we give the Saturday.
The first four columns are the four kinds of place we shoot for every month; the fifth is for shops, jewellers and boutiques, like the ones we shoot on shoot days. See the real work: a dessert shop, a hotel, a gym and a clinic. Several dates at once? A Content Studio shoot day is on the prices page.
- A day to plan for. Post on the day, or the days before.
- With care. A Gurpurab or a holy day: greetings, not offers.
- Quiet day. A respectful post, or none. No offers.
- Season. Months, not a day: plan the whole stretch.
- Skip it. Not every date suits every place.

About the dates
Dates checked on against the Punjab government’s 2026 list, the central government’s 2027 lists and Drik Panchang; Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya on , against Drik Panchang. Where they differ, both are shown. Punjab’s own 2027 list usually comes out at the end of November (the 2026 list came out on 26 November 2025); when it does, we check every 2027 row against it.
- Lohri and Maghi, January 2027. Drik Panchang puts Lohri on Thursday 14 January and Makar Sankranti, Maghi, on Friday 15 January, because the sun moves into Capricorn at 9:14 in the evening of the 14th. The central list gives Makar Sankranti as Thursday 14 January, and some calendars print Lohri on Wednesday 13 January. Punjab’s own 2027 list will settle it.
- Holi 2027. The central government’s holiday is Tuesday 23 March, and its restricted list gives Holika Dahan on Monday 22 March. Drik Panchang gives Holika Dahan on Sunday 21 March and Holi on Monday 22 March. In Punjab, 23 March is also the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, so we’d keep the colours to the 22nd. Plan for the whole stretch.
- Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Gurpurab. Friday 15 January 2027 is the central list’s date. Punjab’s 2026 list left this Gurpurab to be announced later.
- Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom day. We use Punjab’s date, Monday 14 December 2026. Some national lists give a different day.
- The wedding months. Hindu weddings follow the panchang and pause from about mid-December to mid-January. Sikh weddings don’t wait for an auspicious day: the Rehat Maryada says the two families fix the day between them. CAIT, the traders’ body, counted the 2025 season from 1 November. For a hotel or banquet hall, its own diary is the real calendar.
- Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya. Drik Panchang’s dates: Dhanteras on Friday 6 November 2026 and Wednesday 27 October 2027, and Akshaya Tritiya on Sunday 9 May 2027. Neither is on Punjab’s list of holidays.
- Summer and Teeyan. Punjab’s schools closed from 1 to 30 June in 2026, by an order of 30 May; the 2027 dates come with Punjab’s 2027 order. Drik Panchang gives Hariyali Teej on Wednesday 4 August 2027, and Teeyan runs from it to the full moon of Sawan.
